Vietnam landmark Thien Mu Pagoda gets a face-lift
Vietnam landmark Thien Mu Pagoda gets a face-lift January 31, 2008 6:10pm While in Vietnam in early December, I learned that the government has just completed a $1.6-million restoration of the Thien Mu Pagoda in the old royal capital of Hue. Sitting on the banks of the Perfume River and built in 1601 by Lord Nguyen Hoang, the pagoda is Hue’s most famous structure. So its refurbishment is great news for lovers of Vietnamese history, art and architecture. Related Links: Travel: Destination
